Every day, nonprofit leaders show up for our communities. They mentor youth, design programs, raise funds, and hold space for others—often while carrying the invisible weight of exhaustion, anxiety, and responsibility. Their work changes lives, but it also takes a toll.
At Strategic Disruption, we believe that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. That’s why we launched Who’s Taking Care of the Caretakers?, a community wellness series designed to nourish the people who nurture our communities.
Pause, breathe & reconnect
These sessions invite nonprofit professionals, educators, and social impact leaders to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. Each event blends healing-centered practice with leadership reflection, offering a space to rest and restore while exploring new ways to lead from wholeness.
Through guided mindfulness, conversation, and movement, participants explore questions like:

How do we sustain our energy while sustaining others?
What does rest look like as resistance and as strategy?
How can leaders build organizations that model collective care instead of burnout?
Building our own capacity and sustainability
The series is intentionally hosted in community settings—places where leaders can step away from their daily pressures and return to the heart of why they lead. Each gathering includes wellness experiences, reflection activities, and connection circles facilitated by local practitioners rooted in culturally responsive care.
Who’s Taking Care of the Caretakers? is a reminder that the strength of our social movements depends on the well-being of the people behind them.
Because sustainable change starts with sustainable leaders.
Stay tuned for upcoming sessions in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Richmond, and join us in reimagining leadership through the lens of rest, recovery, and renewal.
